Candy king is probably the largest pick and mix brand I know of. Whilst the design is clean I don't like the use of colour and feel as though the logo and packaging design is quite boring.
Candy kittens design is clean and sleek but it isn't pick n mix and their brand is aimed more at adults. I would like to create something contemporary like this but for a younger audience.
I went into Leeds centre to do some primary research into the the sweet shops on offer. This is wat I found:
Candy Hero, sweet imports: One word - GARISH!
Mr Simms Olde Sweet shop: Wayyyyy too old fashioned. Maybe also aimed more at a much older audience.
Bon bons:
Gobstoppers: Again garish and not primarily pick n mix - more of an american imported sweet shop.
Browns: Looks cheap and tacky. Market stall rather than an actual shop.
I have found that there are not many brands for pick and mix, way more independent sweet shops so there could be a real market for a new, trendy pick n mix sweet shop.
