I realised that I hadn't really done much with type yet this year and wanted to try making another of my own header fonts. I got the idea of a bunch of colours and shapes somehow fitting together in dfferent ways to create letters.
I spent some time roughly sketching up my ideas and this is how it came out:
I knew I'd have SOME alterations to do but I liked the overall look of it. I went ahead and took it into illustrator.
I began by creating the basic shapes that would be used:
Added a bunch of snazzy colours so it'd match the fun vibe the event is going for.
I finally ended up with this font and was immediately SUPER happy with it
I put it into the logo and it looks so good! All of the crossing lines and colours make it stand out really well. I didn't want to but a background behind it as i thought it may be a bit much. I chose centre aligned as it looked more like a complete logo that way rather than right or left aligned.
I also created a couple gifs to use either on a website or to project on the weekend of the event:
They also asked me to design some super simple pronoun stickers for people to buy for cheaps:
I mocked up a bunch of branded event items in case they wanted any made at any point. The poster was printed and put up around town but they weren't very specific about whether they wanted much more merch!
The tshirt design is possibly going to be screen printed by people on the day of the event as people are supposed to be bringing their own tshirts/bags/jackets etc to print on as part of the event.
Here are my final boards:
